#2236 - Torrent
Transparent watercolor, 16"x26", on Chinese Xuan paper
This is an experiment to test out the raw Chinese Xuan paper, which, to a large extent, behaves like a very "thirsty" tissue paper. In order to depict the details of the torrent, I had to keep the brush very dry and used very gentle strokes that barely touch the surface of the paper. Even so, I still cannot achieved the level of details that I usually strike for when I paint on watercolor paper. Nevertheless, the result appears to be acceptable to me.Friday, April 20, 2012
